Musicals In Progress

The Puppy That Ate Christmas
(book and lyrics by Andrew Marshall)

Jamsheed joins forces with director and playwright Andrew G Marshall on this new Christmas musical. The show which will be aimed at a young audience, is a double reworking of the Pinochle myth, but with a twist. Set to premiere in late 2009, The Puppy That Ate Christmas will be an exciting new piece of children's theatre, with something for kids of all ages.

One Day This World (working title)

This moving and intimate story, set in a London art college, follows the lives of four talented art and fashion students and their teachers. During this important time in their lives, they discover a number of startling things about not only the cruel and often pretentious art world but, more importantly, about themselves and who they are as artists. The story takes its inspiration loosely from Sondheim's Sunday In The Park With George.

The score is set for full pit orchestra, 2 principals, 6 performers and a chorus of flexible size.

The Greatest Job In the Sky (working title)

A musical comedy set in the murky galley of the airline industry and the far flung corners of the globe.

Jamsheed's extensive experience as a very frequent flyer (and husband to cabin crew) has provided him with a wealth of stories, insight and terrifying truths about what lies behind the once glamorous face of flying. This furious score flings its audience into a world of high camp, mile-high triumph, lonely separation, terror and that dizzying choice of chicken or fish.

The setting is for orchestra, 3 principals, 9 performers and many, many passengers.
